NAB Post+ Production Show Comes to NY in November

The NAB Post + Production Show will take place this November at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. The show is the result of continued collaboration between the National Association of Broadcasters and Future Media Concepts, both of which came together to host a similar show at NAB in Las Vegas last April.

Future Media Concepts president Ben Kozuch says the aim of The NAB Post + Production Show is to establish a serious professional show in New York, something that he feels has been lacking until now.

This year's show, scheduled for November 15-17, is a combination conference and expo. Attendees have the choice of seeing technology demonstrations at exhibitors' booths - there are 40 manufacturers on board already and that number could grow to 100 - or attending training sessions where they can learn the latest applications from certified professional.

NAB Post + will feature more than 100 training sessions designed specifically for professional TV/video/film editors, animators, visual effects artists, producers, directors, Web designers and DVD developers. Session will cover applications such as Apple's Final Cut Pro and Motion, Avid's DS Nitris and Xpress Pro, and Adobe's After Effects and Premiere. There are also courses being offered on DVD authoring and Web design. Attendees can opt to participate in two-day certification classes too, at the end of which, they will be presented with an online exam.

Keynote speakers will make presentations each day of the show. Academy Award-winning editor Thelma Schoonmaker is already confirmed for Tuesday, November 15. The theater area will also play host to tips & tricks sessions, sponsored by various manufacturers.

Passes to NAB Post + can be purchased online through the show's Web site. There are various pricing options available to those who want to attend just the exhibits, just the sessions, or a combination of both. Student pricing is also available.
