AI Legal: Business Ethics of Content Creation

3 hours

In this course, attendees will learn about the risks and rewards of incorporating generative AI into their workflow. The terms of service ('TOS') related to generative AI are both complex and, from a business perspective, involve significant risks. Clients typically expect unlimited rights to the work you deliver to them, and those rights may not be available for works that include generative AI material.

We will walk through the TOS for various providers and explain how these terms (and associated risks) translate to you, your business, and your clients’ business. Additionally, we will review the latest developments in the law regarding generative AI. There will be ample opportunities for questions and discussion, ultimately enabling you to identify business and legal risks related to generative AI as they apply to your projects.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand what generative AI is and how it works.
  • Understand how the OpenAI/Adobe/Midjourney/StableDiffusion Terms of Service relate to your implementation and use of generative AI.
  • Understand how your contracts and relationships with clients and internal personnel are affected by the use of generative AI.
  • Understand the risks of including generative AI in your projects and deliverables.
